DURHAM, N.C. -- The Duke women’s tennis team remained atop the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) rankings, as announced by the association Tuesday. The Blue Devils garnered the top ranking for the fourth consecutive week and the eighth time this season.

In addition to the team ranking, Duke also placed five singles players among the nation’s top 125 and five doubles teams among the nation’s top 90.

In singles, sophomore Beatrice Capra headlines the Duke contingent, holding steady at No. 5. Joining Capra on the singles list includes junior and 23rd-ranked Ester Goldfeld, senior and 32nd-ranked Hanna Mar, freshman and 114th-ranked Alyssa Smith and fellow freshman and 122nd-ranked Chalena Scholl.

The Blue Devils feature five players who have reached 20 singles wins so far this season – Capra (25-6), Goldfeld (25-7), senior Marianne Jodoin (23-7), Mar (22-9) and Smith (22-8).

Two Duke tandems appear among the nation’s top-20 doubles teams, including the fourth-ranked duo of Capra and Mar and the 20th-ranked pair of Goldfeld and Smith. Joining Duke’s two top-20 doubles pairs is the 35th-ranked team of junior Annie Mulholland and Goldfeld, No. 53 Goldfeld and Jodoin and the 66th-ranked tandem of Mulholland and Scholl.

The Blue Devils have won the double-doubles point in 20 of 21 dual matches in 2014.

Duke closes home competition Friday, April 11, taking on Boston College. Both Mar and Jodoin will be honored prior to the match, as a part of Senior Day at 3:00 p.m.
