COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Former Blue Devil Stefanie Fee has been named to the 18-player roster that will represent the United States at the 2014 Champions Challenge in Glasglow, Scotland, as announced Monday, Apr. 14 by national team head coach Craig Parnham.
The Champions Challenge, slated for Apr. 27-May 4 in Glasgow, will be the squad’s final step of preparation prior to the 2014 Rabobank Hockey World Cup May 31-June 15 in The Hague, Netherlands.
Team USA is coming off of a 4-0 sweep against Canada last month in a capped four-game series between the two squads at Spooky Nook Sports’ Dome Arena in Lancaster, Pa. The U.S. is currently ranked 10th in the International Hockey Federation’s women’s world rankings.
At the 2011 and 2012 Champions Challenges, Team USA fell to Japan and Australia, respectively, in the final games to take home silver. More recently, the U.S. also took silver at the 2013 Pan Am Cup after a tightly contested loss to Argentina in the final.
A 2012 graduate of Duke, Fee started every game for the Blue Devils during her four seasons in Durham. The standout defender garnered All-America, All-ACC and All-ACC Tournament accolades her senior year, in addition to being named to the Longstreth/NFHCA All-South Region first team.
