DURHAM, N.C.—Duke University sophomores Deemer Class and Case Matheis were named to the ACC All-Tournament Team following their performances in the ACC Tournament semifinals. This is the first All-Tournament team honor for both players.
Class registered three goals in Duke’s setback to Syracuse in the ACC semifinals. The hat trick against the Orange was the fifth of the year for the second-year midfielder and his 11th of the year with at least three points. Class recently garnered All-ACC honors and was added to the list of 28 nominees for the 2014 Tewaaraton Award.
Matheis netted a season-high three goals and two assists for five points against Syracuse. His hat trick was the first of the 2014 campaign and fifth of his career, while his five points were one shy of his career mark of six. A second-year attackman, Matheis has 16 goals and 16 assists for the Blue Devils this season.
Duke (12-3) closes out its regular season schedule at Boston University May 4 at 1 p.m.
