DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke defensive end Kenny Anunike and running back Juwan Thompson both have agreed to terms with the NFL’s Denver Broncos.

Anunike, a 6-5, 270-pound native of Galena, Ohio, was a two-time All-ACC selection in 2012 and 2013 and is one of just two players in Duke history to lead the Blue Devils in sacks three consecutive seasons.  In 54 career games, he compiled 148 tackles, 26.0 tackles for loss, 15.0 quarterback sacks, three caused fumbles, two pass breakups and eight QB pressures.  His sack total ranks fourth on Duke’s all-time chart.

In 2013, Anunike started all 14 games and posted 67 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 6.0 quarterback sacks, two PBUs and three QB pressures en route to earning second team All-ACC honors and first team Capital One Academic All-District III accolades.  In the ACC, he ranked 13th in sacks per game (0.46) and 19th in tackles for loss per game (0.96) and was named the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week following 11-tackle outing in Duke’s win over N.C. State on November 9.

Thompson, a 5-11, 225-pound native of Fairburn, Ga., played in 49 career games and was a three-time Academic All-ACC selection.  For his career, he rushed 274 times for 1,244 yards (4.54) and nine touchdowns, caught 56 passes for 397 yards (7.09) and three scores and returned 15 kickoffs for 327 yards (21.80) to finish a total of 1,968 all-purpose yards.  Thompson is one of 42 players in Duke history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a career.

In 2013, Thompson served as a team captain while rushing 64 times for 348 yards (5.44) and one touchdown including a career-high 92-yard performance in the Chick-fil-A Bowl against Texas A&M.

This past season, Anunike and Thompson helped the Blue Devils to a school single-season record 10 wins, the ACC’s Coastal Division championship, a berth in the Dr Pepper ACC Championship game and an appearance in the 46th annual Chick-fil-A Bowl.  Duke finished the year ranked 23rd in the final Associated Press national poll.
