The Duke Football Summer Spotlight runs every Tuesday and Thursday on GoDuke.com and features interviews with members of the reigning ACC Coastal Division Champion Blue Devils.
DURHAM -- This week’s Duke Football Summer Spotlight features redshirt senior wide receiver Issac Blakeney, who enters the 2014 season as one of Duke’s top options in the passing game. A 6-6, 235-pound native of Monroe, N.C., Blakeney hauled in 19 receptions for 244 yards and four touchdowns in 2013 while also playing significant snaps on special teams.
Blakeney, who fully transitioned to wide receiver last season after playing tight end the year before, is among the fastest players on the team and recently competed with the Duke track and field team in the spring as a sprinter.
Duke returns 44 letterwinners (20 offense; 21 defense; three special teams) and 17 starters (eight offense; six defense, three special teams) from a squad that went 10-4 overall and 6-2 in the ACC while reaching the Chick-fil-A Bowl a year ago.
