DURHAM, N.C.— Head coach Joanne P. McCallie along with assistant coach Hernando Planells, Elizabeth Williams, Sierra Calhoun, Kendall McCravey-Cooper, Oderah Chidom, Amber Henson and Alexis Jones participated in the Chillin4Charity Cold Water Challenge Friday outside Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The group answered the challenge by having coolers of ice water dumped on their heads.

Chillin4Charity is an initiative started by the University of Arizona women’s basketball team and head coach Niya Butts, to raise awareness and donations for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The challenge was issued to the rest of the Pac-12 coaches and has gained momentum from there, reaching across the nation as coaches and student-athletes continue to challenge others.

Rules for the challenge are that all parties have 48 hours from the release to answer the challenge, if it goes unmet then that party owes the Kay Yow Foundation $250 for head coaches and $100 for assistants. If the challenge is met, then whoever issued the challenge owes the foundation $50 for head coaches and $25 for assistants.  Any player that does not answer the challenge will owe five hours of community service. For each player that does answer the challenge, each Arizona player will owe two hours of community service.
