DURHAM -- For a fifth-year senior, fall camp is a known quantity. For a recently-enrolled freshman, the season's first couple of weeks carries with it a very different feeling.

The Blue Devil Network had an opportunity to gather both of those perspectives, as fifth-year senior linebacker Kelby Brown and true freshman wide receiver Chris Taylor offered their unique points of view on the first few days of fall camp.

Brown, a 6-2, 230-pound native of Charlotte, N.C., was one of 51 players on the watch list and one of seven from the ACC. Brown, who earned All-ACC first team honors in 2013, has also been named to the watch lists for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Bednarik Award and Rotary Lombardi Award.

Brown ranked second in the ACC with 8.8 tackles per game in 2013 to help the Blue Devils post a school-record 10 wins and claim the ACC Coastal Division crown for the first time in program history. He added 11.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 quarterback sack, two interceptions, two caused fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two pass breakups and eight QB pressures just one year after missing the entire 2012 season due to a knee injury.

As a high school senior, Taylor was a first team (4A) all-state pick in Florida after catching 47 passes for 856 yards and 12 touchdowns for University High School.
