2015-16: Participated in two competitions during the indoor season and one during the outdoor campaign…in indoor competition, posted a top-20 performance in the 400 at the VT Challenge (2/20), finishing 19th in a time of 51.52…competed in the 400 at the Camel City Invitational (1/29) and posted a time of 52.72…during the outdoor season, participated in the 400 at the Raleigh Relays (3/25) and finished in a time of 51.96.
Prior to Duke: Lettered four years in track & field at Bishop Gorman High School under the direction of coach Scott Cooley…team captain and MVP of the men’s track team as a junior and senior…racing at the 2015 Nevada Division I State Meet, finished sixth in the 400 with a 48.98 showing… won the 400 at the Cherry & Silver All-Comers meet with a 49.75, the second-fastest time in the state of Nevada during the 2015 indoor season…also placed third in the 200 at the same meet with a 22.91, the fastest performance in Nevada…as a junior, ran personal-best outdoor times of 21.94 and 48.37 in the 200 and 400, respectively, setting Bishop Gorman school records in both…also graduated as part of the school-record holding 4x200 and 4x400 teams…held the No. 1 spot in the 400 (48.96) and No. 2 ranking in the 200 (22.23) during the 2014 indoor campaign…also competed with the Nevada Gazelles and the Triple Crown Elite Sprint club track teams…in addition to track & field, lettered one year in football and two years in basketball, earning multiple scholar-athlete awards for all three sports…member of the Academic Society and National Honor Society…earned a Certificate of Honor in weight training…member of the Quill and Scroll…graduated with an honors diploma.
Personal: Son of Mary and Donald Nobis…born Sept. 15 in Las Vegas, Nev….father, Donald, graduated from Duke in 1991 with a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy.
