Fall 2016: Participated in four fall tournaments, the Duke James Bonk Invite, the ITA Carolina Regional, the Wolfpack Invitational and the Charlotte 49ers Fall Invitational … turned in an 8-5 record in doubles and captured the Wolfpack Invitational Red Draw doubles title … finished 0-4 in singles … excelled in doubles with classmate Vincent Lin at the Carolina Regional, going 4-1 with a trip to the semifinals … pair nearly eliminated in opening round of regional, fighting off Wake Forest’s Sean Hill and Charles Parry 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (11) … tallied two more wins before enduring a grueling 7-6 (4), 6-7 (6), 1-0 (5) quarterfinals triumph against East Carolina’s Kasey Countee and Freddie McGeehan … dropped a 7-5, 6-2 decision to North Carolina’s Robert Kelly and Josh Peck in the semifinals … won all three matches with TJ Pura at the Wolfpack Invitational, fighting past Elon’s Chris Humphreys and Petar Tomic and N.C. 2015-16: Came on strong in the spring and formed one of the top doubles pairings on the squad with senior Daniel McCall … played to an 11-14 doubles mark with a 9-9 record in dual matches with McCall … posted a 4-8 singles mark, with an 0-2 record in dual matches, at No. 5 and No. 6 … in singles action, played in final two regular season ACC matches, falling to Clemson and North Carolina … paired with McCall in doubles and won four consecutive decisions on court three, against No. 27 Vanderbilt, NC A&T, Charlotte and Coastal Carolina … wins against the Aggies and 49ers clinched the doubles points for the Blue Devils … moved up to the No. 2 spot with McCall during the first five ACC matches of the campaign … filled the No. 1 position with McCall against N.C. Central and No. 6 Wake Forest … lost four consecutive ACC decisions, but rebounded with a four-match winning streak, including wins against three league foes … topped Virginia Tech’s Jai Corbett and Mitch Harper, 6-3, Louisville’s Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff and George Hedley, 6-0, and N.C. State’s Nick Horton and Shoti Meparidze, 7-5 … clinched the doubles point against the Wolfpack … tallied final ACC doubles triumph of the campaign versus Clemson’s Alex Favrot and Daffra Sanon with a 6-1 victory … in the fall, played to a 4-6 singles mark and a 2-5 record in doubles while participating in the Duke James Bonk Invite, USTA/ITA Carolina Regional and Wake Forest Invite … lost first three matches before tallying first victory, against N.C. State’s Michael Ogden in final match of the Bonk Invite … won first match at the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph against Winthrop’s Josh Ryan … played No. 71 Simon Norenius of N.C. State in the Round of 64 and suffered a 6-1, 6-2 setback … closed the fall at the Wake Forest Invite, going 2-2 … in doubles, paired with sophomore Andrew DeJoy and junior TJ Pura … with DeJoy, earned first victory in initial match with an 8-3 win against Louisville’s Courtney Lock and Santiago Salazar … went 1-1 with Pura at the Wake Forest Invite. 

Prior to Duke: A four-year letterwinner for head coach Sean Bilsboro ... earned North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 3A All-State accolades as a senior after going 14-3 in singles ... finished with a career record of 118-23 for Durham Academy ... during senior year, became the fifth member of Durham Academy’s 100-win club ... as a senior, posted a 14-1 mark in doubles to go along with 14-3 record in singles ... during junior campaign went 14-5 in singles and 12-4 in doubles ... posted a single-season high 17 singles wins as a sophomore, suffering just one loss ... went 15-1 in doubles during sophomore campaign ... tallied a 15-5 singles mark as a rookie with a 16-3 doubles ledger ... also earned four varsity letters as a center defender and midfielder in soccer and two as a guard on the basketball team ... was an all-conference selection in soccer as a junior and senior.

Personal: Born Jason Anthony Lapidus on March 30, 1997, in Durham, N.C. ... son of Pia and Jay Lapidus ... father was the men’s tennis coach at Duke from 1991-2008 ...
