Church on Cosme:
“Caitlin is a very unique player. She is one of the best leaders that we’ve ever seen as a youth player. She directs, she talks and she communicates.  Typically a center back, Caitlin is good on the tackle and she is strong. She comes from another one of our favorite clubs, the Albertson Fury. We’ve had a long line of girls (Maddy Haller, Cody Newman, Lorraine Quinn, Rebecca Moros) come in who played with Paul Riley. She’s tough, she’s going to give us some aggressiveness, she’s good with the ball and she’s got long service from the back.  Overall, she has a great skill set. We look forward to her battling and really pushing our players to be able to see minutes. I think Caitlin can have a major impact on our program.”

“Taylor is a back, but she can also play a number of different positions. She can play as a center back and she can play as a wide back. She’s very, very athletic. She’s good with the ball. She’s not only just a defender, she’s an attacker, which we really demand from our back players. She can get forward as she plays an attacking position at her high school and has been able to score a lot of goals.  So it’ll be interesting for us to find out what’s going to be the best fit for Taylor when she comes in. She’s been playing on national teams for the last couple of years, so she’s been playing at a very high level, and she plays at a very high level at club, while making a major impact there. We’re really excited to have Taylor in, we’re really anxious to figure out what’s going to be her best position since she’s so versatile and can play a number of different positions. We really think she’s going to have a great impact on our program.”

Church on Nabet:
“We’re very excited to have Lily come in. Lily joined us a little bit later, but the number one thing that jumps out when you see Lily play is that there’s not a harder-working player on any team she’s ever been on. She is a box-to-box midfielder. She’s ferocious on the tackle. She’s not that tall, but she is very, very good in the air. She can play with her feet, also, so we’re very excited to have Lily come into the program. We think she’s going to really bring a lot of competitiveness to our program. She can play as both a low midfielder and a high midfielder. We are excited about Lily and look forward to her coming in and seeing where her role is on the 2017 team.”

Church on Paschall:
“We are very excited for Karlie to come into our program. Karlie is a very versatile player. She has played a number of positions with her club team in Tennessee and they’ve won a couple of national championships. She has been on winning teams and she’s got a winning mentality.  Karlie works extremely hard and is very coachable. We see her as an attacking player and as a wide player.  She has a good pace, she can take on players, she’s got a great shot, she strikes a great ball across and she can shoot from outside. We think she can score goals from long distances for us.  She is able to beat players off the dribble, so we really like Karlie’s skill set. Now the national team has played her a lot in the back the last couple years, which is exciting for us because it leaves a little versatility. I don’t know if we’ll see that this year, but maybe over the course of four years she may end up there as a wide attacking back or even sometimes as a center back. But she has a lot of versatility and we are looking forward to bringing that into our program. We think Karlie will make an impact in our program early.”

We’ve got a good group of back players coached by Carla Overbeck, so she’ll be a very fortunate young lady to come in and have Carla coaching her. Church on Turner:
“Natasha Turner, probably of all the girls, has grown the most over the last two or three years and we are excited for Natasha to come into our program. We look at her right now as probably a center back for us. You know, we deal with Lizzy [Raben] graduating last year and Rebecca [Quinn] coming back, but Rebecca could play in the back or could play in midfield. Natasha can come in and make in impact with our program right away. She is good in the air, she can play with her feet and she is aggressive. She plays with CASL in Raleigh, which has been a great club for our program over the years. Christina [Gibbons] came from CASL so we look for Natasha to come in and make an impact.  We expect her to grow over the next four years and we are very excited to have Natasha in our program.”
