LONDON, England - Duke track and field incoming graduate student Steven Solomon will compete in the 400m at the IAAF World Championships in London, England on Saturday morning.

Solomon will represent Duke in his final year of eligibility after running at Stanford during his undergraduate career. The Vaucluse, New South Wales native is the current five time defending Australian national champion in the 400 meters and represented his country at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. He also won a bronze medal at the 2012 IAAf World Junior Championships.

Solomon qualified for the World Championships when he ran a time of 45.19 at the TrackTown Summer Series in June. It was the fastest time he had run since the 2012 Olympic finals.

The 400m race will begin at 5:45 Eastern time in The Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Park in London.  Solomon will be one of twenty runners in the two heats.
