WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Duke men’s tennis team began the Wake Forest Fall Invitational with a clean sweep Friday as sophomores Spencer Furman and Nick Stachowiak paired to win their one doubles match and turned in a combined 4-0 singles ledger.

The duo is the No. 2 seed in the A3 doubles draw and advanced to Saturday’s 9:30 a.m. semifinal with a 6-4 victory. Furman, the No. 2 seed in the A1 singles draw, earned a pair of straight set victories. Stachowiak, the No. 2 seed in the A2 singles draw, also earned two victories. Both advance to Saturday’s singles semifinals.

This weekend represents Duke’s last fall tournament. The Blue Devils kick off the 2018 dual season January 13 in Scottsdale, Ariz., versus Arizona State.
