DURHAM, N.C.—A trio of former Duke men’s lacrosse players are among the 23 players selected to United States Men’s National Team travel roster for the upcoming Federation of International Lacrosse World Championship as selected by U.S. and Duke head coach John Danowski. Ned Crotty, Matt Danowski and Jordan Wolf all will represent the Blue Devils at the event in July in Netanya, Israel, while John Danowski will coach the U.S.
Matt Danowski and Wolf will be making their debuts at a World Championship for the U.S., while Crotty is playing in his third event. Crotty helped lead the U.S. to the gold medal in 2010, scoring game-tying and go-ahead goals in the gold medal victory over Canada. Both Crotty and Matt Danowski are assistant coaches for the Blue Devils.
The roster was selected from the 48-member U.S. men’s national team after the Team USA Spring Premiere Saturday. It was the seventh evaluation weekend for the players since John Danowski was named head coach in 2015.
Duke is one of three schools to have at least three players represented. Maryland leads the way with five.
