DURHAM, N.C. – After joining the squad on a national team replacement contract, former Duke women’s soccer standout Imani Dorsey has now signed a full professional contract with Sky Blue FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), the team announced Friday.
Dorsey made her professional debut last weekend, earning the start and playing 71 minutes in the squad’s 0-0 draw against the Washington Spirit.
The Elkridge, Md., native was selected No. 5 overall in the 2018 NWSL College Draft in January. A United Soccer Coaches First Team All-American, National Scholar Athlete of the Year and the 2017 ACC Offensive Player of the Year, Dorsey tallied a team-high 14 goals and 38 points to go along with 10 assists on the season and tied a school record with six-straight games with a goal from Aug. 20 – Sept. 8.
