VANCOUVER, B.C. – Prior to heading to Durham in late August for her rookie campaign, Duke University women’s golf incoming freshman Gina Kim is traveling the world this summer and she continues her tour at the Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship July 24-27 at Marine Drive Golf Club in Vancouver, British Columbia.

It will mark the 105th playing of the championship and features some of the top women’s amateur golfers in the nation as 156 golfers will tee off this week. Kim will open play Tuesday at 4:36 p.m. (ET), along with Euna Han and Alyaa Abdulghany on hole No. 10. The trio will then tee off No. 1 Wednesday, July 25 at 11:36 a.m. (ET).

Kim, a native of Chapel Hill, N.C., is coming off a semifinal appearance in the 2018 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship in Pebble Beach, Calif., over the weekend. She also traveled to Japan in June for the Toyota Junior Golf World Cup, competed in the U.S. Women’s Open, North & South Amateur and the AJGA Thunderbird International Junior.

A practice round will be conducted on July 23 prior to the championship’s opening round. Following the first two rounds of play, the field will be reduced to the low 70 players and ties. A tie for the championship will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following the conclusion of play.

The winner of the Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship will earn an exemption into the CP Women's Open from Aug. 20-26 at the Wascana Country Club in Regina, Sask.

Designed in 1922 by the late Arthur Vernon Macan, Marine Drive has been home to many champions. The 6,300 yard, par 71 course is known for its difficulty and has continued to provide an exceptional test of golf.
