DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University head men’s tennis coach Ramsey Smith announced five roster changes for the 2019 spring campaign Friday morning. Seniors Vincent Lin and Catalin Mateas will rejoin the program, junior Samir Agadi has joined the Blue Devils, sophomore Edu Güell has enrolled at Duke and freshman Robert Maciag has been suspended indefinitely from the team.
Lin was a member of the program from 2015-17 while Mateas departed the program in the fall before rejoining for the spring semester.
Agadi, from Alpharetta, Ga., was a four-year letterwinner in both tennis and squash at Loomis Chaffee [Conn.], where he served as a prefect and resident assistant for two years.
Güell, a native of Barcelona, Spain, competed in the main draw of all four Junior Grand Slam events before enrolling at Duke in January. Güell owns a career-high ATP ranking of 1,323, achieved in October of 2018.
Maciag, who played in two fall events, has been suspended from the team indefinitely for conduct unbecoming of a member of the program.
