Mike Gminski is one of only four Duke basketball players to earn All-America honors in three successive seasons, an honor he accomplished from 1978-80.

The 1979 ACC Player of the Year was a starter on Duke's 1978 Final Four team that played for the national championship against Kentucky. Gminski earned All-Final Four honors after scoring 29 points against Notre Dame in the semifinals.

Gminski earned GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-America status three times during his career. He was also a three-time All-ACC honoree and first team All-ACC Tournament his senior year.

He went on to play 14 seasons in the NBA before retiring in 1994 with the Milwaukee Bucks.

His jersey number 43 is retired by Duke.
