The standout of Duke's 1964 NCAA runners-up, Jeff Mullins has done it all in the world of basketball. He owns an NBA World Championship ring, was three times selected all-pro. Cherishes a 1964 Olympic gold medal won in Tokyo, and has more All-America plagues than could be counted on both hands. He still ranks second on the Duke all-time scoring list and holds school records for most field goals made in a single game and season. He was the ACC's most outstanding athlete in 1964 and is one of the few athletes ever named all-conference three consecutive years. However, the performance that will stand out forever in the minds of Duke fans everywhere came against Villanova in the 1964 Eastern Regionals. In that game, he was fantastic in scoring 43 points. He played excellent defense and couldn't miss on offense capping a 28-piont first half with a 45-foot shot at the buzzer. Mullins returned to Duke in 1976 for a one year stint as assistant athletic director.
