Dick Siderowf is one of the nation's outstanding amateur golfers. The Westport, Connecticut native lettered for the Duke golf team from 1957 through 1959 and led the Blue Devils to the ACC golf championship in 1959 when he finished second individually.
Siderowf's amateur golf career has been even more impressive. He has competed as an amateur in eight Masters and four U.S. Opens and has been a member of four Walker Cup teams for the U.S. while captaining a fifth Walker Cup entry. In 1968 he was low amateur at the U.S. Open.
Siderowf has claimed numerous amateur titles, including two British Amateurs and one Canadian Open. He was on the World Cup team in 1968 and 1976 and has dominated amateur golf in his native Northeast, winning five Connecticut Amateurs, four metropolitan (NY) Amateurs, three Connecticut Opens and one new England Amateur.
