Sports Performance Coaching Staff
Assistant Sports Performance Coach, Olympic Sports (M Lacrosse, M & W Swimming & Diving, Rowing)
Carl Christensen joined the Duke University sports performance staff in January of 2009 after spending the previous two and half years as the Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning at Missouri State University.
At Duke, Christensen is the sports performance coach of the men’s lacrosse, rowing and swimming and diving teams and also assists with multiple other Olympic sports.
At Missouri State University, he was responsible for the design and implementation of the strength and conditioning programs for men’s and women’s soccer, softball, men’s and women’s swimming, field hockey, cross country and men’s and women’s golf.
Prior to Missouri State, he held a similar position at the University of Arkansas working with a variety of teams and also served as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Wyoming.
Christensen, a native of Iowa, received his Bachelor of Arts from Chadron State College in 2003 and his Master of Science from the University of Wyoming in 2006. He is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and by the United States Weightlifting Organization.
