CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Duke women's fencing team went a perfect 6-0, and the Duke men 5-1 on Sunday at the Eric Sollee Invitational hosted by MIT.

The meet marked the best performance of the season for both squads as the women took down Boston College (20-7), Brandeis (20-7), Yeshiva (27-0), NYU (19-8), Stevens (20-7) and Brown (14-13). The men nearly matched the women's performance with victories over Boston College (16-11), Brandeis (15-12), Yeshiva (27-0), NYU (18-9) and Stevens (17-10), but dropped a narrow decision to Brown, 14-13.

Duke senior saber Sean Cadley won her first 16 matches and nearly extended her unbeaten streak through the entire meet, but fell in her second to last bout of the weekend against Brown. Cadley, who went a perfect 18-0 in last weekend's Philadelphia Invitational, won 34 bouts in a row before dropping the narrow 5-4 decision to Brown's Christine Whalen. After a 17-1 performance at the Eric Sollee Invitational, Cadley's record sits at a team-best 51-1 on the season. Fellow saber Kodia Baye-Cigna also finished near-perfect with a 16-2 record on the day.

All three women's epee fencers, led by senior captain and two-time All-America Emily D'Agostino, went 14-4, while women's foil Lily Shepard posted a 14-2 record and fellow foil Samantha Lee went 13-4. While both the women's epee and saber squads went 5-1, the foils finished undefeated at a perfect 6-0 on the day.

The men's saber squad went 5-1 thanks to a pair of 15-3 showings from senior captain Anthony Lin and freshman Charles Copti. Those two led the sabers to a 5-1 day with wins over all but Brown, which edged a 5-4 decision.

In men's epee, 2012 Junior Olympics silver medalist Dylan Nollner returned to the Duke lineup and went 5-1 to compliment a 14-4 performance from squad wins leader Josiah Brown. Edward Chen also reached double digits with 11 victories.

In men's foil, Michael DeVito led the squad with a 12-6 record while Steven Wenguer stepped in to notch eight wins in 12 matches.

Coming up next for Duke is the annual Duke Home Meet, which will pit the Blue Devils against a pair of national powerhouses in Penn State and Notre Dame. The meet will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9-10, in Card Gym, located adjacent to Cameron Indoor Stadium. Admission to the event is free.
