INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Junior Christine Wixted made her NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships debut Friday on the second day of competition at the IU Natatorium and the IUPUI Sports Complex in Indianapolis.

The program record holder and a two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference performer in the 100-yard breaststroke, Wixted competed in the event trials Friday morning in the first NCAA Championships swim of her career. The Greenwood Village, Colo., native clocked 1:01.37 to finish 38th overall in the field of 48 competitors.

Wixted is also qualified to compete in the 200 breaststroke, which is slated for the final day of competition in Indianapolis Saturday, March 23. Trials get underway at 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by the finals session at 7 p.m., which will be broadcast live on ESPN3. Live results will also be available throughout the day.

[Note 1: A consolation final immediately shall precede the championship final for each event except the 1,650-yard freestyle and diving events. Eight lanes will be used in all swimming events.]

[Note 2: The 1,650-yard freestyle event will begin at approximately 4:45 p.m., with the last heat of the preliminaries to end at approximately 6 p.m.]

[Note 3: Preliminaries for both men and women will begin at 11 a.m. Finals for both men and women will start at 7 p.m.]

[Note 4: Awards ceremonies will be held immediately after the championship final of that given event.]
