DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University signee Alexis Jones earned more hardware this week as she was named one of five USA Today First Team All-America selections, following a standout senior campaign at Irving MacArthur H.S., in Texas.
Jones, who is from Irving, Texas, averaged 25.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 4.8 steals in her final year. On the season, Jones registered 20 games with 20 or more points, 12 with 30 or more points and a season-high 42 points against Incarnate Word on Dec. 21. She tallied 15 double-doubles and two triple-doubles. The 5-8 guard played in both the McDonald’s and WBCA All-America contests this spring.
Other members of the first team were Breanna Stewart (Connecticut), Bashaara Graves (Tennessee), Morgan Tuck (Connecticut) and Moriah Jefferson (Connecticut).
