DURHAM, N.C. -- Several members of the Duke football team were guest speakers at the Duke Credit Union's "Financial Education Youth Day" last week.

The players spoke with local Durham youth about the importance of proper spending habits,  fiscal responsibility and time management, and stayed afterwards for pictures and autographs.

"Today we talked to the kids about financial management and time management, especially with the transition from the high school level to the college level," redshirt senior defensive end Kenny Anunike said.

"They had a lot of questions and we tried to give them the best answers we could about what the transition's like, how they should save their money, how time management is key. [We told them to] start it now, start saving your money and start working hard in school so when you get to the college level, the transition's a lot smoother and not as hard as some people make it."

The Duke Credit Union's "Fiscal Education Youth Day" is an annual event geared toward educating young people about the importance of fiscal responsibility.
