PINEHURST, N.C. - Duke University junior Alejandra Cangrejo carded 17 pars and one bogey on Thursday in the final round of qualifying at the 110th North & South Women’s Amateur to advance to the match play portion of the championship, which is being played at the 6,563-yard, par 72 Pinehurst No. 8 course in Pinehurst, N.C.
Cangrejo tied for seventh with a total of 145, after totaling a 73 on Thursday and finished tied for seventh overall. Jaye Marie Green won medalist honors with a four-under-par, 143, as the field was cut to the top 16 golfers. Cangrejo, who is out of Bogota, Colombia, posted her lone bogey of the day on No. 14.
Match play will kick off on Friday morning on Pinehurst No. 2.
