DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University incoming freshman Celine Boutier is set to play in the 2012 U.S. Women’s Amateur, which will be played at 6,512-yard, par 72 The Country Club in Cleveland, Ohio, from Aug. 6-12.
Boutier, who is a product of Montrouge, France, is coming off winning the European Ladies Amateur title on July 28, where she shot a 16-under-par, 268. She will open the U.S. Amateur at 12:30 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 6 off hole 10. The U.S. Amateur will feature two rounds of stroke play on Aug. 6-7, followed by match play from Aug. 8-12.
Looking to become the third Blue Devil to win a U.S. Amateur title, Boutier will try to join the ranks of Amanda Blumenherst (2008) and Virada Nirapathpongporn (2003).
Fans can follow the action on the Golf Channel Aug. 8-12 from 3:00-5:00 p.m., during match play.
