Duke vs. Stanford Game Notes
• Duke plays game two of its 100th season of football by travelling to face No. 25 Stanford at 10:30 p.m. (ET) ... The game will be broadcast live by the Pac-12 Network with Dave Flemming (play-by-play), Coy Wire (analyst) & Brooke Olzemdam (sideline) calling the action

• The Blue Devils stand at 1-0 on the year following a 46-26 season-opening home victory over FIU while Stanford is 1-0 after defeating San Jose State, 20-17, last Friday night

• The Blue Devils and Cardinal met last year in Durham, with Stanford posting a 44-14 win behind QB Andrew Luck’s 290-yard, four-TD passing performance

• Duke’s lone win over the Cardinal against two losses was a 9-3 decision in 1971 in Palo Alto ... Ernie Jackson returned an interception 54 yards for the game’s only TD ... The win stands as Duke’s last road triumph over a nationally-ranked opponent

• Duke holds an all-time record of 23-128-6 against nationally ranked foes ... The Blue Devils’ last win over a ranked opponent was a 28-25 victory over Virginia on November 5, 1994

• WR Conner Vernon became Duke’s career leader in pass receptions last week with 208, eclipsing the school mark of 207 held by Vernon’s former high school and collegiate teammate, Donovan Varner

• Duke is the only team in the ACC to open the 2012 season with two FCS opponents that both appeared in bowl games last year ... Duke’s first two foes — FIU (8) & Stanford (11) — combined for 19 wins last season to mark the highest combined total of any opening tandem in the league

• Overall under Cutcliffe, the Blue Devils have won 15 games in four seasons (2008-11) — five more wins than the program’s total in the previous eight seasons (2000-07)

• Beginning in 1982, Cutcliffe is in his 31st season as a collegiate coach ... He has been a part of 232 victories at Tennessee, Ole Miss & Duke

Blue Devils by the Numbers
— Jersey number of sophomore WR Blair Holliday ... Duke dons an “8” decal on the back of its helmets to recognize Holliday, who was injured in a watercraft accident on July 4

2,025 — Career snaps played by redshirt senior C Brian Moore ... Moore, who saw action in just three games last season due to injury, played 59 snaps last week to top the 2,000-play barrier

— Number of Blue Devil true freshmen who played in last week’s season-opener vs. FIU ... S Corbin McCarthy played a Duke rookie-best 33 total snaps in the 46-26 victory over the Panthers

— With last week’s 46-26 win over FIU, Duke head coach David Cutcliffe improved to 20-3 as a head coach when scoring 40+ points (13-2 at Ole Miss & 7-1 at Duke)

— Pass receptions needed by senior WR Conner Vernon to set the ACC’s career record ... Vernon has 208 career catches and trails only Virginia’s Billy McMullen (210), Wake Forest’s Desmond Clark (216) and Clemson’s Aaron Kelly (232)

— Tackles for S Walt Canty over his last 17 games, good for a 7.4 stops per week average ... He has seven double digit games in that span
