DURHAM, N.C. - Duke volleyball freshman Emily Sklar earned her second consecutive ACC Volleyball Freshman of the Week honor Tuesday as announced by the league office.

The rookie outside hitter paced the Blue Devil offense over the weekend, helping Duke to a 2-1 mark at Louisville's Cardinal Classic. Sklar reached double-digit kill totals in all three matches, averaging 4.20 per set while hitting .337. The San Jose, Calif., native totaled 42 kills, 20 digs and two blocks for the tournament en route to her second all-tournament team distinction in as many weekends.

Sklar began the Cardinal Classic with a 10-kill performance against 2011 BIG EAST regular season champion Louisville, then turned in a standout performance against 2011 Southern Conference champion Samford Saturday. Versus the Bulldogs, she knocked down 19 kills and hit .472 to lead the Blue Devils. Sklar polished off the weekend with a double-double against Marshall, totaling 13 kills and 10 digs.

The Blue Devils return to action this coming weekend with the Duke Classic in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke kicks off the weekend with a 7 p.m., match against Elon Friday, September 7.
