Blue Devils Set to Begin Play at WFU Invite

WINSTON SALEM, N.C. – Junior Fred Saba and freshmen Daniel McCall and Josh Levine of the Duke men’s tennis team are scheduled to begin play at the Wake Forest Fall Invitational on Friday in Winston Salem, N.C.

“We are excited to get going tomorrow morning in the Wake Forest Invite,” said head coach Ramsey Smith. “Fred, Dan and Josh have been practicing hard and have prepared well for the weekend.”

Saba, the 111th-ranked player in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s preseason rankings, will compete against Siim Tuus of Liberty in the first round as the No. 4 seed in the A1 singles draw. Levine will play against UNC Wilmington’s Chris Cooprider in the A2 singles draw, while McCall will battle Gaston Murray of UNC Greensboro in the B singles draw.

Saba and McCall will also represent the Blue Devils in the A doubles draw, beginning on Friday at 9 a.m. In their first round match, the tandem will face Davidson’s duo of Joe Schafer and Nicky Kunz.

Two rounds of doubles and one round of singles are scheduled to be played on Friday. The tournament consists of 14 teams and will be held at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex through Sunday.
