DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke football team returns home Saturday, October 20, to take on conference rival North Carolina.  Game time is set for 7 p.m. (ET) and will be aired on ESPNU.  Recently, sat down with senior wide receiver Desmond Scott to learn more about the Durham, N.C. native. What has been your proudest moment at Duke?
Desmond Scott: My proudest moment at Duke, I'll say I have two. One being when I made my first A on a paper without the help of a tutor and on the field my Sophomore season playing Virginia I scored the winning touchdown with 48 seconds left and it made ESPN top 10. What is the most misunderstood thing about your sport?
DS: Most people don't realize that it's the most team-oriented sport there is because you have 11 guys on the field at one time and 22 who play and they all have to be on the same page for things to flow the way they need to. What is your favorite part of being a Duke student-athlete?
DS: My favorite part about being a Duke student-athlete is the fact that I'm getting a great education while playing the sport that I love. What has been your favorite class at Duke?
DS: Favorite class at Duke is probably Education 118 it's a service learning class that allows you to get out and venture to surrounding middle schools and Boys and Girls clubs and allows you to tutor those kids. So it's tied into the education you're getting in the classroom and you're also able to step outside and experience the Durham community. What is your favorite spot on campus?
DS: Favorite spot on campus is in front of the Loop and Subway. There are a lot of chairs so you're able to sit out and enjoy the breeze on a hot day and chill with your friends. Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did that person teach you?
DS: I'd have to say my father. He's been a dad to me, a coach, a dietitian...everything I've needed and more he's done. Everything that he had to do and more he's made me into the man that I am today, that being a Godly man, strong, strong-minded, and knowing that God has a plan for me. Putting it in my mind that I have to obtain that goal to do what's best for me and my family. What is your favorite midnight snack?
DS: My favorite midnight snack would be a fudge round with a glass of milk. What's one possession you can't live without?
DS: Probably my cellphone. I get a lot of text messages and phone calls so I would have to say my cell phone is one possession I couldn't live without. What is the first thing you notice about people?
DS: Probably their outfits, I like shopping and I like to look nice. I'm a polo guy so if someone has on a horse I'd probably notice it.
