Duke rowers Emily Theys and Claire Vannelli were named Ronald McDonald House Charities Duke Student-Athletes of the Week after helping Duke capture three victories at the Head of the Hooch, leading Duke's Championship 8+ and Championship 4+ boats to a top finish on Saturday and then pairing up to win the Open 2- on Sunday.

Theys, a senior and two-time All-ACC selection, and Vannelli, a sophomore and two-year fixture of the varsity 8, helped pace Duke's Championship 8+ to a  time of 16:03.5 which was more than 20 seconds faster than runner-up Oklahoma. Later that day, Theys and Vannelli helped Duke's Championship 4+ entry to a time of 17:46.1, to finish ahead of 36 other boats. On Sunday in the Open 2-, the two posted a time of 19:26.3 which dominated a field of 44 entries and was more than 40 second faster than the runner-up.
