DURHAM, N.C. – Duke senior forward Mason Plumlee was named to the NABC All-America second team, the National Association of Basketball Coaches announced Thursday.

The All-America citation is the second for Plumlee this season, following his selection to the USBWA All-America second team. The NABC selected Plumlee to the All-District II Team earlier this week.

A 6-10 forward from Warsaw, Ind., Plumlee is the second Blue Devil to earn All-America honors this season, joining senior guard Seth Curry who appeared on the Sporting News All-America second team.

In leading Duke to a 29-5 record this season and the program’s fourth Sweet 16 appearance in the last five years, Plumlee has posted 17 double-doubles while averaging 17.2 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. His .598 field goal percentage ranks sixth in the country, while his 10.0 rebounds rank 15th and 17 double-doubles rank ninth. He has scored in double figures in 31 of Duke’s 34 games this season.

Plumlee is Duke's 63rd All-America honoree. Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski has now had 36 All-America selections (1st, 2nd or 3rd team - AP, NABC, Sporting News, UPI, USBWA), tops among active coaches.

With Plumlee and Curry's accolades this season, Duke has had at least one All-America selection in six consecutive seasons and in 14 of the past 15 years.

About the National Association of Basketball Coaches
Located in Kansas City, MO, the NABC was founded in 1927 by Phog Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas. Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game. The NABC currently has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men’s basketball coaches. All members of the NABC are expected to uphold the core values of being a Guardian of the Game by bringing attention to the positive aspects of the sport of basketball and the role coaches play in the academic and athletic lives of today’s student-athletes. The four core values of being a Guardian of the Game are advocacy, leadership, service and education. Additional information about the NABC, its programs and membership, can be found at
