DURHAM, N.C.-  The latest Golf World/WGCA Division I College Women’s Coaches’ Poll was released on Friday with the Duke women’s golf team remaining No. 3 in the latest leger, which combines the resources of Golf World magazine and the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).  

Continuing to hold the No. 1 slot was Southern California, while Alabama, Duke, Oklahoma, Florida, UCLA, Arkansas, Arizona, Stanford and Vanderbilt are in the top 10.  Rounding out the top 25 was North Carolina, Washington, Arizona State, Purdue, Texas Tech, UC Davis, Virginia, Oklahoma State, Georgia, N.C. State, Tulane, Texas A&M, Texas, Baylor and Notre Dame.

In the only tournament for the Blue Devils in the month of March, Duke placed tied for ninth at the Bryan National Collegiate playing without senior All-America and the reigning National Player of the Year Lindy Duncan.  Duncan, who is out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was traveling to the state of California to compete in the LPGA Kraft Nabisco Championship.  

Leading Duke in the Bryan National Collegiate was junior Laetitia Beck with rounds of 73, 75 and 71 for a total of 219, which placed her tied for seventh overall.  A native of Caesarea, Israel, Beck owns five top 20 finishes in seven tournaments and has registered a career-best 73.56 stroke average.  Beck ranks 33rd nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.  

The Blue Devils will next compete in PING ASU Women’s Invitational from April 12-14 in Tempe, Ariz.
