DURHAM, N.C. – Recent Duke University graduate Lindy Duncan will compete in her first professional tournament this weekend as the four-time All-America will play in the Decatur-Forsyth Classic from June 14-16 in Decatur, Ill.

The tournament will be 54 holes at the Hickory Point Golf Club and will feature a purse of $100,000.

Duncan, who is out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., closed her outstanding career recently at the NCAA Championship with a second place finish, after going birdie, birdie and eagle over her final three holes.  She notched a 71.86 stroke average, which was the seventh-best in school history, while totaling six top five, seven top 10 and nine top 20 finishes this season.  Duncan led Duke with 17 rounds of even or under par.  She became just the third Blue Devil to be selected NGCA First Team All-America on four different occasions.

Over her career, Duncan made her mark in the Duke record book ranking second in top five finishes (21), second in top 10 finishes (32), tied for fifth in wins (6), second in top 20 finishes (39), second in even or under par rounds (72), third as Duke’s top scorer in a tournament (27) tied for sixth in rounds played (126) and second in rounds in the 60s (23).

Duncan was the 2012 NGCA & Golfweek National Player of the Year, 2012 Golfstat Award winner, a four-time All-America, four-time All-ACC selection, three-time ACC Player of the Year, 2012 ACC Individual Champion and 2012 ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

She will look to compete on the Symetra Tour this summer in attempt to earn her LPGA Tour card by finishing in the top 10 of the money list.
