DURHAM -- With Duke owning a 6-2 overall record and bowl-eligible for the second straight season, the Blue Devils will enjoy their second open date this week following the upset victory at Virginia Tech this past Saturday.
On Tuesday, quarterback Anthony Boone and linebacker David Helton provided insight on the Blue Devil gridiron program to GoDuke.com.
Boone helped the Blue Devils to the 13-10 win over Virginia Tech by accounting for 151 yards of total offense and his nine-yard touchdown run pushed Duke’s lead to 13-0 with 6:14 remaining in the third period. With a career-high 19 tackles, Helton spearheaded Duke’s defensive unit that held Virginia Tech to a season-low matching 10 points by forcing four turnovers, breaking up 10 passes and limiting the Hokies to just 4-of-18 (.222) on third down.
Duke will host N.C. State on Saturday, November 9 at Wallace Wade Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m., and tickets are available at GoDuke.com.
