Hey Blue Devil fans,

I have visited so many different places since my first update and I am eager to share it with everyone!

The best part about studying abroad is all the excursions that Professor Miglarese provides the class throughout the week for everyone to see the things that we have discussed in class. We have taken many excursions in Italy that allows us to explore churches and artworks in different cities.

Our class went to one of the largest and wealthiest cities of the Early Roman Empire called Aquileia. It is also known to be one of the main archeological sites of Northern Italy. We went into the Aquileia Cathedral and also walked along the archeological area.
The most recent city we traveled to as a class was Padua where we visited the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua, the University of Padua, and the Scrovegni Chapel.

Aside from our class, my friends and I traveled during the weekends. Last weekend we went to Desenzano in Lake Garda and this past weekend we were in Florence! They were both beautiful cities and I had an amazing time. We were able to rent a boat out to the lake when we were in Desenzano and all of us got to drive it. It was an unforgettable experience!

When we were in Florence, we went to the Uffizi Gallery, Accademia Gallery, the Duomo, and the Boboli Gardens. My favorite place was the Duomo, where we had to climb up 463 stairs to reach the top. The view from the top of the Duomo was absolutely amazing! The beautiful sight made me fall in love with the city of Florence and I would love to go back.

While I was in Florence, I got to experience the thrill of cheering for Italy during the World Cup. The game started at midnight and the entire city was fired up to watch the game! Italy won the match, 2-1, against England so my friends and I had a blast!

I have already traveled to so many different places in Italy. I am so thankful to have this opportunity to study and travel at the same time. I can’t wait to visit and explore all the other cities in Italy!

Shout out to my teammate Celine Boutier playing in the U.S. Women’s Open this week!! Good luck! GO DUKE!
