LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The 18th-ranked Duke men’s golf team continues its fall schedule this weekend at the Louisville Cardinal Challenge, hosted by Louisville at the UofL Golf Club.
Play begins Friday morning at 8:30 a.m., with 18 holes of action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The UofL course is par-72, stretching over 7,101 yards.
Duke is fresh off a second-place finish at its own tournament, the Rod Myers Invitational, where its final-round charge up the leaderboard fell just two strokes short of Penn State. The Blue Devils were 10-under for the tournament, including a final-round 280 (-8).
Junior Chandler Eaton, who was the low Blue Devil with a solo second place finish at the Rod Myers, will get the No. 1-spot for Duke this weekend at Louisville. Fellow junior Harrison Taee, who was tied for third last weekend with his best career finish, will play from the No. 2 spot, followed by sophomore Adrien Pendaries at No. 3, sophomore Evan Katz at No. 4 and senior Alex Smalley at No. 5. Sophomore Qi wen Wong will play individually.
Eaton fired rounds of 73, 70 and 67 last weekend for the solo second place. The Sunday round was his lowest since a career-best 66 at last season’s Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, and the finish was his best since tying for individual medalist honors at last year’s D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate.
