Kenny King is in his 16th year working with the Duke men's basketball program on a full-time basis. He returned to his alma mater during the summer of 2002 as the program's academic and recruiting coordinator. His primary focus remains the team's academic performance, though his role was expanded to include all aspects of student life in 2007.
King's main responsibilities include class scheduling, tutoring, time management and long-term planning, as well as serving as the program's liaison for campus affairs. He maintains strong lines of communication with undergraduate faculty, in addition to the graduate, professional and international communities. King also assists the Duke coaching staff with various recruiting responsibilities and the direction of both Mike Krzyzewski's basketball camp and K Academy.
King served four seasons as a student manager at Duke from 1997-00. Following his graduation, he worked at Morgan Stanley for two years as an analyst in the Fixed Income Division in the company's New York and London offices.
A native of Harrison, N.Y., King graduated cum laude from Duke with a B.S. in economics and a minor in chemistry. He earned an MBA from Duke's Fuqua School of Business in 2008. He and his wife, the former Robin Hutchison, have three sons, John Kenny III, William and Alexander, and one daughter, Kathryn.
