DURHAM, N.C. - Three Duke athletes will travel to Des Moines, Iowa to compete at the USA Track & Field Championships over the next four days on the campus of Drake University.

On Thursday, freshman Michelle Anumba from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. will make her debut in competition as a Duke athlete after redshirting this past season. Anumba will be in the juniors division and will compete in the hammer throw at 5:30 p.m. Also competing in juniors will be Andrea Hopkins, a freshman from Lake Oswego, Ore. She will throw the javelin on Friday at 10 a.m.

Competing in the senior division on the men's side is junior Ryan McDermott. He will run the trials of the 3,000 meter steeplechase at 4:15 on Friday and if he advances to the finals will run again on Sunday at 12:50 p.m.

ESPN and NBC will each have TV coverage beginning on Friday. ESPN will air from 8-10 p.m. on Friday, 1-2:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1-2:30 p.m. on Sunday. NBC will air Saturday from 3-4 p.m. and Sunday from 3-4 p.m. Events will also be shown live at www.usatf.org.
