DURHAM, N.C. - Duke junior Julian Suri was named to the All-ACC men's golf team on Thursday as voted upon by the league coaches. Suri, a first-time ACC honoree, enters next week's NCAA East Regional (May 17-19 - Grandover Resort East Course) with a school record 70.7 stroke average to go along with two tournament wins and five top 5 finishes.
Suri is in the midst of one of the most successful individual season in Duke history ranking in the top 10 of the Blue Devil record books in stroke average (1st - 70.70), rounds in the 60s (t-3rd - nine), under-par rounds (t-4th - 16), even-par or better rounds (t-6th - 19), wins (t-2nd - two) and top 5 finishes (t-4th - five).
The St. Augustine, Fla., native is joined on the All-ACC team by Corbin Mills (Clemson), Brooks Koepka (Florida State), Chase Seiffert (Florida State), James White (Georgia Tech), Anders Albertson (Georgia Tech), Bo Andrews (Georgia Tech), Albin Choi (N.C. State), Denny McCarthy (Virginia), Ben Kohles (Virginia), Ben Rusch (Virginia) and Lee Bedford (Wake Forest).
Koepka was named the ACC Player of the Year, while McCarthy was tabbed ACC Freshman of the Year. Georgia Tech's Bruce Heppler garnered Coach of the Year honors.
Suri enters NCAA regional play ranked as the ACC leader in top 5 finishes, top 10 finishes and rounds in the 60s, while also ranking second in stroke average, under-par rounds and top 20 finishes.
