Fourteen Blue Devils Named to All-ACC Academic Squad

DURHAM, N.C. - Fourteen Blue Devils, seven men and seven women, are named to the All-ACC Academic Team as announced today by the conference office.   To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

The Duke men's squad placed a conference-high seven individuals on the All-ACC Academic Team, including sophomores Curtis Beach and Tanner Anderson who have earned the honor two times in their careers.   Seniors Andrew Brodeur and Austin Carpenter, junior Dominick Robinson and sophomores Justin Amezquita and Michael Krone were also named to the team. 

The women's squad placed the second highest number of individuals to the academic team with seven, while Florida State placed eight on the list.  Seniors Cydney Ross and Amy Fryt along with junior Juliet Bottorff and sophomore Erica Brand are all two-time honorees.  Senior Carly Seymour, junior Shannon Sullivan and sophomore Michelle Anumba all earned the honor for the first time in their college careers.
