DURHAM, N.C. -- Recently, GoDuke.com sat down with senior Garett Patterson to learn more about the Richmond, Va., native.
GoDuke.com: Name your three favorite things about being a student-athlete at Duke.
Garett Patterson: I love playing in Wallace Wade. The standard we are held to is something that I love. I feel like we’re held to such a high standard. I love playing in the ACC. It’s a great conference and there’s a lot of great competition.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite ‘on the field’ memory?
GP: I would definitely say the last play against UNC last year, when everybody rushed the field.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite ‘off the field’ memory?
GP: Two summers ago we went over to the Durham Rescue Mission to hang out with kids in the program. We threw the football and ate dinner with their families. I thought it was a great experience off the field.
GoDuke.com: Name three things that motivate you to perform.
GP: My family, myself, knowing my past and where I come from and my teammates.
GoDuke.com: Name three foods that you can’t live without.
GP: Chipotle, Jamaican food and pizza.
GoDuke.com: Describe yourself in three words.
GP: Intelligent, funny and outgoing.
