Team Notes: • The Blue Devils avenged a 74-66 loss to North Carolina by topping the Tar Heels 93-81 on Senior Night in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke has logged a double-digit victory over North Carolina in three of the past four seasons. • Duke defeated North Carolina in Cameron Indoor Stadium for the fourth time in the past five meetings. • Jabari Parker set a Duke-UNC series record for most points by a Duke freshman, finishing with a career-high 30. It broke the previous freshman record of 29 points set by Austin Rivers on Feb. 8, 2012 and was the first 30-point game by a Blue Devil in the series since Nolan Smith scored 30 on March 5, 2011. • Duke extended its NCAA-leading home court win streak to 33 games and finished undefeated in Cameron Indoor Stadium for the second straight season. Duke has 18 undefeated seasons on Coach K Court. • Rodney Hood and Jabari Parker combined for 54 of Duke’s 93 points (58.1 percent) and both topped the 20-point plateau. Those two have scored 20 points in the same game five times. The combined 54 points were their most in game this season. • With Hood and Parker’s 20-point games, Duke has a 20-point scorer in 23 of 31 contests. Parker leads Duke with 16 20-point games, while Hood has 10, Quinn Cook has four and Andre Dawkins and Rasheed Sulaimon both have two. • On the season, they combine to average 35.7 points per game, or 44.7 percent of Duke’s scoring. • The Blue Devils outrebounded North Carolina 34-20 and improved to 17-1 on the year when outrebounding the opposition. Duke had 16 offensive rebounds, compared to North Carolina’s 14 rebounds on their own glass. • North Carolina managed just six offensive rebounds after grabbing 15 in the first meeting this season. • Duke entered halftime with a 40-37 lead, marking the 27th time in 31 games Duke has led at the break. Duke has trailed at halftime just twice all season. • Duke scored 20 second-chance points, marking the seventh time this season Duke has logged at least 20 points on second-chance opportunities. Duke is 6-1 in those games. • Duke shot 27-of-31 (.871) from the free throw line for the second best free throw percentage of the season. • Duke played its 249th consecutive game as a ranked team. The Blue Devils are 206-43 (.827) during that run, which began at the start of the 2007-08 season.
Quinn Cook • Scored 11 points on 2-of-5 shooting from the field and 6-of-6 shooting from the free throw line. The 11 points marked Cook’s first double-figure scoring effort in his past four games. • Scored all 11 points in the second half while also adding four assists in the final frame. • Added a team-high six assists to go with three turnovers in 27 minutes. Cook’s six assists were his most since he had six against Pitt on Jan. 27, 2014.
Andre Dawkins • Became the 63rd player in Duke history to score 1,000 career points. Dawkins ranks tied for 62nd on the list with 1,005 points. His 1,000th career point came on floater in the lane at the 16:54 mark that was part of a three-point play.
Rodney Hood • Recorded his 10th 20-point game of the season, finishing with 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Seven of Hood’s 10 20-point games have come in Cameron Indoor Stadium. • Extend his ACC-leading streak of 28 consecutive games with a three-pointer. Hood is shooting .425 (65-of-153) from three-point range this season, the second-best clip in the ACC behind only teammate Andre Dawkins’ .433 (61-of-141) percentage. • Scored in double figures for the 27th time this season and seventh straight game.
Amile Jefferson • Filled the stat sheet with eight points, eight rebounds, two assist, a block and three steals. Six of Jefferson’s rebounds came on the offensive end and led to five points. • Set a career high with three steals.
Jabari Parker • Scored the most points of any freshman against UNC in the series’ 238-game history, finishing with a career-high 30 points on 10-of-17 shooting. The 30-point game was only the fifth in school history by a freshman and the first since Kyrie Irving had 31 against Michigan State on Dec. 1, 2010. • Logged his sixth double-double in the past seven games and his 14th such game of the season, finishing with 11 rebounds. The 14 double-doubles tie former Duke star Gene Banks (1977-78) for the school freshman record. Parker has 10 double-doubles in his past 13 games. • Scored at least 20 points for the 16th time this season, tied for the second most 20-point games by a freshman in ACC history. Parker is tied with Georgia Tech’s Stephon Marbury (1995-96) for second on that list and trails only Georgia Tech’s Kenny Anderson (1989-90) who had 19. • Extended a streak of 15 consecutive double-figure scoring games. Parker has scored in double figures in 29 of Duke’s 31 games, the fifth most by a Duke freshman and the most by a Duke freshman since Austin Rivers logged 30 in 2011-12. • Increased his school freshman dunk record total to 55.
Rasheed Sulaimon • Scored in double figures for the eighth time in Duke’s past 11 games, finishing with 10 points on just three field goal attempts. Sulaimon hit 2-of-3 shots from the field and 5-of-6 free throws. Sulaimon has scored 10-plus points 16 times this season, including in 12 of Duke’s 18 ACC games.
