Brett Aefsky, from Fairfax, VA, works in conjunction with the staff athletic trainers in the Murray Athletic training room with all of the Olympic sports teams and M&W lacrosse teams. Prior to starting at Duke in 2013, Brett was selected for the Physical Therapy Sports Residency at Duke Sports Medicine which he completed over the following year. Along with providing rehabilitation for Duke student-athletes, he is a regular guest lecturer at his alma mater, the Duke Physical Therapy School.
He serves as an active member for two Sports PT Special Interest Groups which include the Professional & Intercollegiate Sports and the Performance Enhancement groups. Furthermore, he has presented on three occasions at state and national conferences. Aefsky is also an Emergency Medical Responder through the Red Cross and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
