DURHAM, N.C.—Four members of the Duke men’s lacrosse team have been tabbed Preseason Division I All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse in the publication’s 2017 Face-Off Yearbook.

Juniors Justin Guterding and Sean Cerrone and seniors Kyle Rowe and Thomas Zenker all collected honorable mention recognition. The first team has three players from each of the preseason No. 1 Denver, No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 10 Brown.

Guterding, a 2016 USILA All-American honorable mention pick, led the team in scoring in 2016 with 71 points from 43 goals and 28 assists. He ranked second in the ACC in points per game and became the fastest Blue Devil to 100 career points when he reached the mark in only 25 games as a sophomore. He also is the first Blue Devil to score 70-plus points in his first two seasons and enters the 2017 as one of the top attackman in the game.

Joining the Blue Devils after two seasons at Villanova, Cerrone comes to Durham with 57 points to his name. He played in 28 games for the Wildcats, scoring 19 goals and 38 assists. He recorded 12 goals and 24 assists for 36 points as a rookie and had 21 points his second season. He also picked up 30 ground balls in his two seasons at Villanova.

One of the top faceoff men in Division I lacrosse, Rowe won 64 percent of his draws last season and picked up 153 ground balls. He won at least 50 percent of his draws in 12 of his 16 outings and collected at least 10 ground balls in eight games, including a career-high 17 versus Loyola in the NCAA Tournament. Entering the 2017 season, Rowe ranks second among active players in faceoffs won with 605 and is tops in ground balls at 376.

Zenker, a team captain, garnered his honorable mention nod as a short stick defensive midfielder. He’s been a mainstay for the Blue Devils’ defensive midfield throughout the past three seasons. In 2016, the Huntington, N.Y., native picked up a career-best 22 ground balls and added two goals and an assist. He has played in 53 games and has 49 ground balls to go with his eight goals and five assists and 17 caused turnovers.

The Blue Devils, tabbed seventh in the preseason USILA poll, kick off 2017 Feb. 5 against No. 18 Air Force at 3:30 p.m., in Koskinen Stadium.
