Joe Kasper joined the Duke coaching staff in March of 2018 and serves as a graduate assistant coach working primarily with the defensive secondary.
Kasper helped Duke rank fourth in the ACC in passing yards allowed per game (199.4) and fifth in the league in pass efficiency defense (118.40) during the 2018 season. The Blue Devils finished with consecutive years of holding opponents to 201 or fewer passing yards a contest for the first time since 2004-05.
Prior to joining the Blue Devil staff, Kasper coached the wide receivers at John Carroll University during the 2017 campaign and directed the defensive backs at his alma mater, Mentor (Ohio) High School, in 2015-16. He also has previous experience with the NFL’s Cleveland Browns, serving as a Player Personnel and Development Assistant from 2013-15.
Kasper lettered three seasons on the gridiron at Baldwin Wallace University and earned Capital One Academic All-America honors before graduating in 2015 with a degree in political science.
