Matt Hess joined the Duke staff in December of 2015, and currently serves as an Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities, Game Operations and Championships. Prior to being elevated into his current role in December of 2017, Hess served stints as an Outside Facility Monitor, Athletic Facilities and Special Events Assistant and Coordinator of Athletic Facilities, Game operations and Championships.
Hess’s responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, upkeep, maintenance and scheduling for all facilities associated with the Duke football and baseball programs. In addition to serving as the primary event manager for the Duke baseball program, he also provides operational assistance for men’s and women’s basketball as well as ACC and NCAA championships.
A Highland Falls, N.Y. native, Hess graduated from the State University of New York at Cortland in 2015 with a degree in sport management. While at SUNY Cortland, Hess played an active role assisting with event management and athletic facilities. Ahead of receiving his bachelor’s degree, Hess earned an A.A.S. in business administration from the State University of New York at Rockland in 2011.
