Mike DeGeorge joined the Duke Athletics staff in November of 2017 and serves as the Director of Sports Information. In this role, he serves as the primary communications contact for the men’s basketball and men’s golf programs.
DeGeorge came to Durham following a nearly two-year stint as the Assistant Athletics Director for Communications and Broadcasting at Kennesaw State. While with the Owls, DeGeorge led, managed and oversaw the athletics communications, media and broadcasting units, and was involved with long and short-term planning for the overall department.
Prior to his tenure in Kennesaw, he worked in the sports information departments at Georgia Tech and the University of Richmond. DeGeorge served as the primary contact for football and baseball at Georgia Tech and with the Richmond football team, which won the 2008 Division I National Championship.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y., DeGeorge earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Dayton and began his career in the Flyers' Athletics Communication office. He spent one year as a Sports Information Assistant at Xavier University before moving on to Richmond.
