The Source for Duke Sports
Launched in the aftermath of Duke's first NCAA basketball championship in 1991, Blue Devil Weekly has been keeping its readers up-to-date on Duke athletics for 16 years. In September 2007, BDW changed to a twice-per-month publication. Previously it was released weekly during basketball season and monthly the rest of the year. The ever popular and colorful basketball yearbook will still be produced.
In this age of around-the-clock instant information on television, radio and the internet, BDW understands that most of its readers already know the score when they pick up the paper. So the focus is on insightful columns, interesting features, in-depth reporting and expert photography to expand the readers' knowledge and appreciation of Duke athletics.
BDW is published by Moore Productions, the same firm that owns the Duke Radio Network and produces the university's weekly coaches' television shows. The publisher is Johnny Moore, the editor John Roth. The staff also includes columnists Bill Brill, Al Featherston and Jim Sumner and Voice of the Blue Devils Bob Harris.
A one-year subscription to Blue Devil Weekly is $43 while a two-year subscription is $82. (NC residents add 7% sales tax.) First-class mail delivery is available for an additional $28 per year. BDW makes an excellent gift for your favorite True Blue fan.
