  • Earned second team all-state accolades after averaging 18.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game as a junior ... guided his team to a 24-6 record

  • Older sister, Anita Czyz, is a business student at the University of Nevada, Reno
  • Mother, Joanna, earned a masters degree in international business from Gdansk University in Poland
  • Stepfather, William Avery, played university soccer and is an embedded engineer
  • Biological father, Waldemar, played basketball at the university level in Poland
  • Immigrated to the United States in 2004 prior to his freshman year
  • Grew up playing soccer in Poland
  • Began playing basketball at the age of nine 
  • Studied basketball at Zespol Sportowych Szkol Ogolnoksztalcacych in from 2001-04.
